The first Shoreham Hotel was located on the Bay on the east side of Candee Avenue. It was originally built in 1880 and then known as the South Bay House. It was renamed the Shoreham by Alfred Frieman when he acquired it in 1921 to go with his Shoreham Restaurant across the street. It was destroyed by fire in 1925.
