Southbay House

    South Bay Hotel

South Bay House was built in 1880 and was located on the Bay on the east side of Candee Avenue. A popular hotel in its day, guests could get a mule-drawn trolley from the train station down Candee Avenue to the hotel.  It was renamed the Shoreham by Alfred Frieman when he acquired it in 1921 to go with his Shoreham Restaurant across the street. It was destroyed by fire in 1925.
