Mathilde Margaret Gunther Nash
Mathilde Margaret Gunther was born March 22, 1873 in Brooklyn of a German father and American mother.  She married Joseph Webb Nash about 1891 and they had three daughters, Mildred, Florence and Dorothy.  She and her family first came to Sayville as summer residents and moved here permanently in 1944, living at 243 Handsome Avenue.  Mathilde was a member of the Sayville Village Improvement Society and the Sayville Garden Club.  She died October 9, 1965 and is buried in St. Ann's Cemetery.
