Join A Time For Kids in this fun and fast paced Full STEAM Ahead program. With just a few common household materials we will become scientists conducting an experiment called “Blubber Gloves.” We will be practicing early scientific processes of planning, observation, and investigation as we explore how blubber keeps arctic animals from feeling the cold air and water as we reach our hands into ice water with our blubber gloves! See below for the suggested materials list. All registrants will be emailed a link to view recordings at the date and time of the program.

Suggested Materials

  • Large bowl filled with water
  • Ice cubes
  • 2 Ziploc bags
  • Olive oil, vegetable oil, butter, or petroleum jelly
