Program Description

Event Details

The Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) program prevents homelessness by helping very low-income Veterans and their families gain access to the resources they need in order to successfully transition to, or maintain, permanent housing. Items they may be able to help with are:

  • Personal Financial Planning Services
  • Income Support Services
  • Legal Services through Touro College Jacob D. Fuchberg Law Center
  • Housing Counseling
  • Vocational and Rehabilitation Services
  • Employment Services
  • Case Management Services
  • Peer support/outreach services through Suffolk County United Veterans
  • Assistance obtaining VA and other Public Benefits through Suffolk County United Veterans (SCUV)
  • Assistance obtaining VA and other public benefits
  • Healthcare Navigation
  • Other supportive services/temporary financial assistance

Temporary financial assistance may include:

  • Rental Assistance
  • Utility-fee Payment
  • Security or Utility Deposit
  • Moving Cost
  • Emergency Housing Stability
  • Child Care Financial Assistance
  • Transportation
