Program on Heart and Health and Self-measured Blood Pressure Monitoring (SMBP) for public library patrons to promote BP loaner kit program. Resources were compiled from the American Heart Association and information such as what blood pressure is and how to measure it, what ideal levels are, negative effects of high blood pressure, how to maintain a healthy blood pressure, significant disparities between demographics, etc. will be prepared into a slideshow. The importance of a primary care provider will be emphasized and referral to a social worker within the Healthy Libraries team will be provided should the patron require this resource. Additionally, the blood pressure cuff that is available to patrons will be emphasized. How to correctly utilize this cuff will also be demonstrated to patrons.
